Memorandum of understanding signed between Aras, Maku and Anzali Free Zones

In direction to organization's strategic policies to Taking full advantages from national and regional capacity in the development of our country's relations with the Eurasian Economic Union, Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation was signed between Anzali, Maku and Aras Free Zone Managers at Free Zones Conference and expansion of economic cooperation with neighboring countries with focus on export-transit and Eurasia.

This agreement was signed for further operational synchronization between Iran-Eurasian Economic Union by Dr. Mohammad vali Roozbehan, Dr. Mohammad Reza Abdul Rahimi and Mr. Mohsen Nariman.

According to  the abovementioned Memorandum of Understanding main goals of this agreement is effective and ever-expanding interaction and cooperation between Free Zones in order to make maximum use of the Islamic Republic of Iran's production and trade capacities and potentials with Eurasian countries, cooperation for development of trade, especially exports with members of this economic union, developing trade especially exports to EU member states, Joint marketing of manufactured products to taking advantage of agreements,  ultimately attracting and directing domestic and foreign investors to produce products that benefit from the three-zone agreement according to geographic economic advantages.

The report said this conference was held in order to take full advantage of interim Free Trade Agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union focusing on various capacities of each free zone was one of the most important subjects of this conference. Exhibition of private sector capabilities active in the free zones was also held in this conference.

It is worth mentioning that the FTA has entered into force on October 27 this year, and according   to this regional treaty Iranian manufactured goods enjoy benefits of preferences tariff under this agreement for export to member states, and on the other hand, the Iranian government applies import preferences tariff for 380 items produced in this union. In the meantime, Anzali Free Zone with two active trading ports, is on route of international corridors, connecting this area to the national railway network, there are two active industrial parks and more than 100 knowledge- base companies, activation of the exhibition center and  commodity exchange with its selection as the main gateway to union, it plays a central role in development of our country's relations with its member states, This issue is also visible in the opinions of senior executive managers of state, private and economic sectors of our country.
