Coordination and Development Meeting of International Working Group of north –south corridor

The meeting of coordination and development of International Working Group of North-South Corridor was held by presence of Mr. Mehdi Naghavi, Head of the Organization and representatives of Germany, India, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and transportation companies in form of video conference.

This video conference which was attended by 32 business and economic delegations Mr. Nagavi announced firm determination of Islamic republic of Iran for operation of North-South Corridor and declare of his organization readiness to facilitate trade and logistics actions with neighboring countries.


He said during common goals of Anzali Free Zones, Lotus Astrakhan and our partners in Chabahar to develop logistics infrastructures, Anzali Free Zone has taken several  measures up to now such as stablishment of the first deep port of Iran with draft of 6 to 9 meters with four active wharf in the Caspian port complex ,assignment  of Six wharf to domestic and foreign investors, establishment of grain storage with capacity of 150 thousand tons, construction 100 thousand tons of dry warehouse, 120 thousand tons of edible oil tanks , 40 hectare uncover warehouse and fuel tanks, Construction of refrigerator in backyard of the Caspian port complex, planning to launch a line of refrigerated containers and building the first uncover wharf .


Mr. Naghavi also pointed to constructional operations of the Caspian port railway of Anzali free zone that will be connected to national railway are being carried out around the clock, which will be operational by August 2021 and noted that this project has 55% physical progress so it is possible combined transportation to the first railway station with a distance of 15 km, and also referred to agreement of the Railways organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran to grant a special discount for the transportation of goods and containers from the Caspian Sea to the southern ports of Iran up to 20 to 50 percent , and for comparative transportation of goods via North-South corridor we are ready to provide facilities for reducing port and sea tariffs for all kinds of goods and THC in the Caspian port.

Mr. Naghavi stated that we are ready to negotiate about assignment for construction of wharf, dry goods warehouses, grain warehouses and reservoirs or tankers to neighboring countries investors by stating that they are ready to negotiate about joint tariff reduction proposal in the North and South corridor and negotiate for the launch of Ro-Ro and wagon shipping line and maritime transportation.

He also suggests that the Russian side plans and expedite launch of Ro-Ro, wagon and truck dock or wharf.
