In order to play essential role of first free zone in north of country in expansion of the relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran with countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, especially with Russian Federation, was held a joint operational meeting for implementation of memorandums concluded between this organization and Russian institutions by presence of Russian Trade Counselor in Iran, Consul General of this country in Rasht and managing of autonomous non-profit organization Center for economic and legal cooperation between Russia and Iran.
Siahkarzadeh in meeting with managers of this center and the Russian trade advisor stated that expanding relations of his respective region with private sector companies and government institutions is the most important program of this organization in the way of playing a pivotal role in development of relations between two countries, and also by presenting an analysis of benefits and advantage of investment in free zones of Iran and his respective region, introduced position and situation of Anzali Free Zone in international economy of our country in relation to Eurasian Economic Union and Russia.
He pointed to infrastructural changes and developments that have occurred, especially by connection to national railway of Iran, clarified that activation of North-South Corridor requires joint investments of private sector with support of governments of Iran and Russia , so we welcome to commercial consultation support of Russian Federation to play greater role of Iran-Russia Cooperation Center.
Andrey Belinikov, commercial advisor of Russian Federation in Iran, Yevgeny Chizhov, managing director of this center and Andres Aleksandrovich Alniken, Consul General of Russian Federation in Rasht, announced their readiness for development of trade between two countries through Anzali Free Zone and specified the special order for development and expansion of cooperation on North-South Corridorand, in order to develop cooperation and take advantage of capacities of mutual parties was invited from MR.siahkarzadeh to attend in BRICS international event which will be held by presence of special economic zones of Russia and other countries.
Russian managers expressed their happiness from tourism facilities of the Anzali Free Zone which have been expanded in parallel with the transportation infrastructure of the region; they announced its readiness of Russian investors to invest in this region in order to turn first free zone in north of country into center of importing Russian grains to Iran.
Memorandum of cooperation between center of economic and legal Cooperation between Russia and Iran and Anzali Free Zone Organization, consisting of 10 articles and 30 clauses, to be implemented for five years, was signed by Mohammad Sajad Siahkarzadeh, chairman of the board and CEO of this organization, and Ogai Viktorovich Chizov, CEO of autonomous non-profit organization as center of economic and legal cooperation between Russia and Iran.
partnerships and long-term development, effective and beneficial cooperation for parties according to laws of two countries, assistance to promotion and implementing of experimental or existing social projects, technical-engineering projects of small and medium businesses; providing analytical-statistical information and improvement of social and business environment; holding social and scientific conferences; defining new joint projects of cooperation; formation of commissions, committees and working groups for joint cooperation and drawing up plan for development of cooperation between parties is one of the most important issues of foresaid memorandum.
It should be mentioned that they visited from port infrastructure, rail transportation, and tourism facilities of Anzali Free Zone.
