Train arrived to Caspian port complex

By arrival of first freight train, railway connected to Caspian port complex of Anzali Free Zone.

Rasht railway was put into operation at Caspian port complex station, This railway will have capacity for transportation of 10 million tons of cargo and 600,000 passengers per year.

This railway project is last part of the Sea-to-Sea Rail Corridor, which establishes a rail connection between country's southern ports and northern ports in Gilan province and make possible combined cargo exchange through Iran to Caspian Sea countries

This national plan which has many international achievements for economic and transit diplomacy of our country, connect northern and southern seas of Iran by railway, completed transportation infrastructure to activate North-South Corridor and development of transit activities in East and West Asia, and also create opportunities to expand the relations of the Caspian Sea countries and the Eurasian Economic Union with southern border of the Persian Gulf.

By completion of port and transportation infrastructure of the Caspian Port Complex, loading and unloading capacity of this port will increase to over 10 million tons per year, of which about 30% will be carried out by railway.
