The Russian Consul General in Rasht; at the first Iran-Russia trade development summit in the Anzali Free Zone, pointed to history of relations between Guilan and Russia and available capacities in economic, commercial and cultural fields, and also development of communication routes and use of the capacities of the Caspian Sea as basis for expanding cooperation between Iran and Russia.

In line with the development of economic cooperation between the Anzali Free Zone and southern China;

The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Guangzhou, while visiting the Anzali Free Zone, met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the CEO of the organization and the two sides discussed about potential for developing economic and trade cooperation between this region and southern China.

Speaking at inaugural Iran-Russia trade development summit in Anzali Free Zone

The Governor of Gilan speaking at the first Iran-Russia trade development summit in the Anzali Free Zone emphasized northern region's vast potential in trade and transit, so developing transportation infrastructure and activating capacity of northern ports—particularly along the Caspian Sea route can reduce landed cost of goods while increasing region's share of foreign trade.

He said Anzali Free Zone in Iran and the Lotus Special Economic Zone in Astrakhan could be part of this institutional infrastructure—an infrastructure capable of transforming trade into investment and transportation into value-added creation.

The first Iran-Russia trade development summit by focus on Gilan provinces and Astrakhan was held in the Ibtihaj Hall of the Anzali Free Zone by presence of a group of officials and economic activists from both countries.
