Launch of cargo flight to Russia

Launch of cargo flight to Russia is turning point in commercial and transit development of Gilan province and by operation of air transportation we will witness of increase of export to the Eurasian market.

This cargo flight can carry six  tons of goods in each trip, and By May 7, first flight from Rasht to Makhachkala, Russia, will export first cargo via air transportaion.

By operation of air transit route, Anzali Free Zone and Gilan Province have all sea, rail and air transportation infrastructures which by itself provides suitable opportunity for  Iran to play a greater role in transit and economic exchange of countries in region."

Air transport is one of the main element of trade with neighboring countries, and Rasht Airport can be a trasit hub in this regard .

One advantage of Gilan province is its proximity to countries such as Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan, which means that business center of Gilan province is working with these countries. For this reason we are looking for connect Rasht Airport to Anzali Free Zone which is a development tool for region, Free zones are not a goal, but a tool for country's economic development."

Direct flights to Tajikistan and Istanbul will also be established at Sardar Jangal Airport of Rasht, so that passengers can flight from rasht to Turkey and Tajikestan.
